All You Need | 2023 Merlot - Calistoga AVA
Imagine this.
A wall that never stays blank. Covered in color, words, and hope layered across decades. Each voice adding something new—love, protest, faith in what could be. Authorities painted it over again and again, but the next morning fresh graffiti returned. Lyrics of Imagine, declarations of peace, simple reminders that the human spirit can’t be silenced. It’s not a monument. It’s alive. A conversation. A movement.
Merlot’s journey isn’t so different. Once celebrated, then mocked. Brushed aside, painted over by fashion and jokes. But it never disappeared. Beneath the noise, it held its ground—waiting for its voice to cut through again.
And this is that voice.
Merlot is All You Need—plush, defiant, and grounded in Calistoga grit. Smooth where it should be, firm where it matters, lifted with violet light. Not nostalgia. Not a comeback. Just Merlot the way it was always meant to be: honest, enduring, impossible to erase.
Tasting Notes
Juicy plum and blackberry take center stage—ripe, dark, and confident. Cocoa-dusted tannins add grip and depth, melting into a velvet finish. A violet lift runs through the middle, while 50% American oak layers in toasted vanilla and warmth. The result: Merlot with voice and swagger.

Vineyard & Winemaking
From a single vineyard near Calistoga, at Napa Valley’s northern edge. This site’s gravelly volcanic soils give backbone and minerality, while hot days push the fruit into rich, concentrated flavors. At night, cool canyon breezes sweep in, preserving freshness and balance.
The fruit was hand-harvested, fermented in small lots, and aged in 50% American oak. Enough to add structure and spice, but never to bury the vineyard’s natural voice.
